I own a hydraulic sales/service company. There are two coal fired power plants in close proximity-is there much use of hydraulics in these facilities?
Most of my experience is from steel mills, tire and rubber plants and press applications. Any input would be much appreciated as to the power plant applications and product range.

Thanks,
Maytag

Maytag, I should think that the best way to find out what you want is to merely make a sales call on those two coal-fired power plants.

Milton,

Thanks for your reply. Business conditions like they are cold calls are a dead-end a lot of times. Info Im looking for would be whether the process uses large central systems(1000 gal tank, 400 hp, axial piston pumps, etc)or whether the are only smaller systems with only a few circuits. What is the dominate product line-i.e. Eaton/Vickers, Parker, Rexroth? I know what to expect when entering a steel mill, cotton gin or other press applications but know little about power generation.
