Default Recommended Training?

Greetings, I’m wondering if you might take the time and offer suggestions on what training would help me in procuring a job as a Power Plant Operator.

I have 20 years experience as an Airline Mechanic and Maintenance Controller. I have 20 plus years experience in Aircraft Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, structures and environmental systems. Training and schooling in aircraft AC/DC systems and electrical generation and trouble shooting. Several aircraft maintenance friends have made the transition successfully into careers as Power Plant Operators without any additional training. I have applied for several PPO positions and have not received any responses, I would imagine due in part to the large number of people that are unemployed at this point and time.
I am considering returning back to school and would like to make the move into a career as a PPO.

Any suggestions on what schooling or training would help make me more attractive to potential employers?

Thanks in advance,

Ed Spoerl
