Question synchronous speed equation

N=120*f/p
please tell what is 120 ?
is there any reason other than constant ?

N = the synchronous speed of the motor in revolutions per minute (RPM)
f = the frequency supplied to the motor in Hertz (Hz)
P = the number of poles the motor has
120 is the constant to convert to Revolutions Per Minute.. you are correct.
