Question H2 Seals Bolted or Unbolted?

We have Unbolted H2 seals on our 7FH2 generators without any issues. We perform routine bucket testing to determine excessive oil flow and possible seal damage. Many have moved to the bolted design and have heard that it has seens its share of issues. Since we have been in operation for about 6 years without any sealing issues, I personally dont believe we should change them. What are your experiences with your H2 seals?
thanks in advance

I agree that if your seals do not have issues and the flow rates are ideal I would keep them in operation. The bolted design are more robust but is expensive to modify as it would require a new housing. Also ive heard of tight clearance issues with the bolted design which ended up causing varnishing or pitting of the sealing surface since the flow is limited. just keep an eye on your current setup and inspection/replace regularly with your scheduled outages.
good luck!
