Default Vibration protction

Hi every one

Can any one answer me (why the vibration protection in siemens gas turbines and other gas turbines is a sesmic vibration protection only not shaft vibration?)

Default seismic`

hi,

i am working at siemens SGT-400 and it is not have any seismic sensors and i saw it only in GE turbines, seismic qas put as a first indication for high vibration before radial sensors.

I am not a vibration expert but a seismic vibration sensor is typically mounted on the bearing housing which monitors total in/sec motion of the unit. For a bently Proximitor, it measures shaft movement relative to its gap. The proximitor can sense oil whip, imbalance of the unit, alignment issues, etc but the seismics will monitor vibration that will cause catestrophic failure of the unit. Does the SGT-400 have smart capabilities to diagnose what type of vibration the sensors are seeing? What are the alarm and trip limits?
I believe on the GE units its .5in/sec to alarm and 1in/sec for trip on the seismics and the bently proximitors just monitors and alarms.

Default Sgt-400

vibration system installed with this machines is bently nevada 3500 so there is not any smrat capability for this machine, just it read displacement to indicate high vibration in bearings, the alarm limit is at 60 micro meter and the trip limite is at 100 mocro meter.
