Default DA Vent Plume

What size if your vent plume on your DA?

Mine is a DA rated for over 500Kpph of water with 40PSIG steam and my plume is huge i'm talking 30 feet. My schooling tells me it should be like 2 to 3 feet but I've never had to deal with such a large DA before at 40PSIG.

If any one els has a comparable DA what size is your vent plume?

Default DA vent plume

You schooling and instincts are good. We have a similar but slightly larger DA. Ours is 850 Kpph @ 65 Psi and we have shorted our plumes to about 6 feet. There should be orifaces in the discharge lines reducing flows to a minimum. We actually have isolation valve so we can close the vents to a minimum then crack them opened a half a turn at a time. We monitor our Oxygen levels closely and have seen no ill effects. Just watch for disolved oxygen levels in your feedwater.
Thanks Doug

Thanks for your reply Doug. I have noticed it said you’re from Maine. What plant do you work at? I am working at Verso Paper in Bucksport as temporary help.
