Default Sootblowing - ESP

No you do not have to shut down you ESP (electrostatic Precipatator). they work well together. I work @ a large coal plant and we blow soot twice a day on each boiler. The precipatator runs 24 - 7 as per our air license, so we would violate if we shut it down. We have a recovery boiler here also that sootblows 24 -7 and precip is on 24 - 7 and no ill effects. I don't have any references with me but maybe in a few days i can direct you to a source or book that explains better. Thanks Doug
