Dear Friends,
in some of HRSG location of feed control station is provided before economiser and in some others feed control station is located after economiser on feed water way to drum, can any body clarifies on which design basis location of feed control station is provided, |

Depends on the saturation temp of the water being moved. If you are going to be near latent heat exchange you would put the feed water regulator on the output of the economizer, keeps the saturation temp up or a.k.a does not boil.

I agree with Lar944s respone but also believe the number of feedwater control elements can also determine the location of the controls. Majority of feedwater control is downstream of the economizers in todays combined cycle plants.
