Default Condenser Helium Leak Check

Howdy all, I just signed up, wondering if you would be kind enough to give some advice...

I was looking at checking for air in leakages on a two bank, two pass condenser on a 160MW three pressure steam turbine. I saw some new portable (17 lb) helium analyzers that looked a lot better for traveling site-to-site than the old 50 lb models. Manufacture is PICO: http://www.johnmorris.com.au/Leak-Detectors/PICO-Vacuum-Helium-Leak-Detector.aspx?pd=617&CategoryID=67

Has anyone used this one? If not, any suggestions on which new analyzer to buy? All of my applications would be similar to the problem condenser I mentioned above.

Thanks
Jim

Default Alternative Equipment

Jim,
Full disclosure, I'm in marketing for Agilent Technologies (formerly Varian Vacuum Technologies) who sells a competing instrument to the one hyperlinked in your post. We have a leak testing accessory currently in beta test that is designed specifically for power plant leak testing applications. It is designed to improve sensitivity and protect the leak detector from from the water vapor in the condenser. I would be happy to work with you to arrange an evaluation. My email address is available in my profile.
